Alike is a next‑generation specialist healthcare hub designed to support a multidisciplinary team within a fully accessible, purpose‑built workplace. Co‑designed with lived experience consultants, the interior brief required a balance of clinical performance and emotional safety, acknowledging how conventional medical environments can distress people with disability.

The suite is arranged into clear zones, with a generous reception and light‑filled waiting area leading into meeting pods, consultation and procedure rooms, allied health spaces, a gym, staff areas and a twelve‑metre gait assessment runway. Spatial planning emphasises circulation, workflow separation, visibility and universal access through wide corridors, generous turning circles and continuous flooring. Clinical spaces accommodate varied mobility and bariatric needs with adjustable plinths, ceiling hoists, screens and integrated services.

Semi‑translucent glazed partitions are utilised extensively to draw daylight deep into the floorplate while maintaining privacy and openness. Living plantscapes provide a reassuring biophilic connection, softening clinical functions and enhancing wellbeing. A calm, playful palette of rounded forms, warm dimmable lighting and non‑reflective finishes supports trauma‑informed practice. Durable, hygienic materials and ergonomic selections—paired with high‑quality furnishings—reduce cognitive load and elevate comfort for both staff and clients.
